Your profile is your first impression to photolover, where they get to know something about you, see your portfolio and fall in love with your photography, leading them to finally hit the button and book a photo shoot with you.

We have designed an aesthetically pleasing layout that will help photolovers to easily find all the relevant information to guide them in their choice.

And here we’d like to share with you some useful tips on how to create a compelling profile to stand out and get booked!

  1. Don’t be too mysterious and choose a profile picture where your face is visible. This will help break the ice, build trust and facilitate the photolover to recognize you when you meet.
  2. Bio – make it interesting! Share fun facts or details about you that go beyond photography. Something one on a million can relate to, something unique about yourself, or something that’s your real trademark – for instance: your favorite food/song/city, a little obsession, your motto or your favorite quote. It will raise curiosity and get people more excited about booking and meeting you.
  3. Specialties – select the type of photography you can master, (or where you don’t totally suck!) and among them, those that are most likely to be purchased by your targeted audience.
  4. For your portfolio, pick nine pictures that showcase your skills at best and that represent your specialties.

You can edit and update your profile directly from the Pelooc at any time.

  1. To edit or update your profile details (name, phone number, location , bio and other personal details), portfolio, specialties, and gear –> from the app home screen, tap on the profile icon (bottom, right-side of the screen) and click “ACCOUNT” from the menu.
  2. To edit or update your notification settings, payment information (credit card and bank details) and password; or to sign out from the app –> from the app home screen, tap on the profile icon (bottom, right-side of the screen) and click “SETTINGS” from the menu.

services and rates

The services you can provide through Pelooc are the following:

  • mobile shoot
  • mobile shoot + editing
  • camera shoot
  • camera shoot + editing

You can find a detailed descriptions of the services here (please read it carefully).

Among the services available, you can decide which ones you want to provide through the platform. and how much you want to charge for each service (within the platform limits, reported here below).

Pricing:

  • mobile shoot (3o minutes) up to $20
  • mobile shoot + editing (3o minutes) up to $30
  • camera shoot (3o minutes) up to $50 
  • camera shoot + editing (3o minutes) up to $100

The minimum photo shoot duration is 30 minutes, which can be extended to a maximum of 2 hours. The rates for session longer that 30 minutes will automatically adjust.  For instance, if your rates for a mobile shoot is $20, if you get booked for 1 hour, the final price will be $40; for 1 hour and half $60; and for 2 hours $80.

Whenever you have a slot available, or simply feel in the mood for taking pictures, you can jump on the Pelooc app and make yourself available for being booked on spot, by the photolovers around you.

This is a great way to enjoy your spare time wherever you are, maybe to fill a slot when an appointment get cancelled, or to get a gig while you are traveling and you had no opportunity to scheduled your photo shoots ahead. Especially convenient for those who have an unpredictable agenda, but don’t wanna miss the opportunity to practice photography and earn some extra money doing what they love.

You can make yourself available for instant booking, by simply activating the “instant booking” button in the Pelooc app home.

Once you the button is on, you’ll be required to set your gigs. It only takes a few clicks.

  1. Select the services, or services, you wish to make available for instant booking.
  2. Set your rate for each service, by clicking on “EDIT GIG”, right below the instant booking button. Bonus tip: instant bookings happen in the radius of 2 miles from your current location, this will save you time in commuting to the photo shot location, allowing you to offer more competitive rates, and rising the chances to get booked.

On Pelooc you can alway decide when you want to make yourself available for photo shoots, and conveniently manage your calendar according to your schedule.

  1. To start scheduling your availability click on the ” manage your calendar” button in the app home.
  2. Click on an active date or your calendar to enter your slots.
  3. Your default location will be automatically displayed, but you can change it by typing a new one. This is particularly useful when you know you’ll be traveling, but don’t wanna miss the opportunity to pick up some extra gigs.
  4. Date will allow you to either set the slot for only the day you selected from the calendar, or extend it to a longer period by changing the end date.
  5. Next, you are gonna set your slot starting time and ending time.
  6. You can all multiple time slots that will apply to the selected date/s.
  7. Last, you need to select which services are you willing to provide (setting the related rate for each of them) and save.
  8. Done, now photolovers looking for phototakers in your location will be able to find and book you!

instant booking - how it works

Congrats, you are all set! And now? Go ahead reading this guide to make sure you’ll be ready when you get you first booking!

  1. BOOKING REQUESTED – a photolover has found you on the map and hit the request booking button. At this point you get a notification on your phone (and via email) to alert you about the new booking. You’ll have 5 minutes to confirm (or decline) the request, before it expires and your photolover will be redirected to the map to find another phototaker.
  2. BOOKING CONFIRMED – once you have confirmed the booking, the platform charges the photolover to secure your booking. At this point cancellation is no longer free of charge, neither for you or the photolover. (See the cancellation policy in the Info for more details). After confirmation contact details of the photolover will be disclosed and you’ll be able to contact him/her in case you need support to reach his/her current location.
  3. START PHOTO SHOOT – once you have reached your phototaker and the photo shoot location, click “start photo shoot” right before starting your photo session. Your booking status will turn to “ongoing”. This will keep us up-to-date on the status of your booking, so that we can better support you at all the different stages. Also, it’ll help you make sure you stay on track with the time, as we warmly recommend you to do not exceed the booked photo shoot duration, as your payment amount is calculated on that.
  4. COMPLETE PHOTO SHOOT – at the end of the photos session go back to your booking and click “complete photo shoot”. From this moment you’ll have 24h (or 2h, in case of mobile photo shoot without editing) to transfer the photos to your photolover.
  5. DELIVER & REVIEW – for mobile photo shoot (without editing) you must deliver the photos to your photolover within 2 hours by the end of the photo shoot, for all the other services you have 24 hours. Please note that for each 30 minutes session you must deliver at least 10 pictures (edited or unedited, according to the gig your photolover’s booked). After delivery you need to go to your booking and mark it as “delivered.” You’ll be requested to include a rating and a review for your photolover in order to proceed (more info about this in the Info). You are free to deliver the pictures the in way you prefer (sms, email, wetransfer, dropbox, …), see the Info (Photo delivery) to read our tips and recommendations about how to deliver the photos to your photolover.
  6. PAYMENT – As soon as the status of the your booking turns to “delivered” the platform releases the payment to your bank account.  You can read more about this in the “payment & support” chapter of this handbook.

scheduled photo shoots - how it works

Congrats, you are all set! And now? Go ahead reading this guide to make sure you’ll be ready when you get you first booking!

  1. BOOKING CONFIRMED – when a photolover wants to schedule a photo shoot will be able to pick a date and time among the ones you set available on your calendar, so the booking will be automatically confirmed. For this reason it is important that you mindfully set your availability including only the slots you are actually bookable. When the photolover confirms booking the platform charges his/her credit card to secure your payment. At this point cancellation is no longer free of charge, neither for you or the photolover. (See the cancellation policy in the Info for more details). You will get a note an in-app and an email notification and you’ll be able to access the photolover contact details to agree on the exact photo shoot location and discuss all the details.
  2. RESCHEDULE – in the scenario that you are no longer available for a photo shoot, you have one possibility to ask your photolover to reschedule. You can only submit 1 request to reschedule per booking, and at least 48h prior the photo shoot time. To request a rescheduling, go inside your booking and click on “request change”, leave a message to your photolover in the text box to kindly ask for a rescheduling, then send the request. Bonus tip: before requesting a change double check your calendar to make sure that you are actually available on the slots you previously set. Please note that your photolover can either accept to reschedule and proceed booking for another day/time, or cancel the booking.
  3. PHOTO SHOOT – on the day of the photo shoot at the staring time, your booking status will automatically turn to “ongoing”. When your session with the photolover is over go back to your booking and click “complete photo shoot”. From this moment you’ll have 24h (or 2h, in case of mobile photo shoot without editing) to transfer the photos to your photolover.
  4. DELIVER & REVIEW – for mobile photo shoot (without editing) you must deliver the photos to your photolover within 2 hours by the end of the photo shoot, for all the other services you have 24 hours. Please note that for each 30 minutes session you must deliver at least 10 pictures (edited or unedited, according to the gig your photolover’s booked). Photo delivery

You are free to transfer the photos to your photolover the way you like, as long as you’re mindful with the deadlines (2hr by the end of the session for mobile photo shoot, and 24h for the other services).

Here our recommendations based on our experience that you might find useful for yourself.

Airdrop – it’s easy, immediate, and our preferred way to share the pictures with photolovers in case of mobile photo shoot (without editing). This makes photolovers particularly happy, because they can immediately access their pictures and use them for their online content in no time. And it’s especially convenient to phototakers, as you don’t risk to miss the deadline, you can proceed marking the photo shoot on the app as delivered, get your payment and forget about it!

Other ways you can transfer the photos to your photolover are with your Dropbox or GooleDrive account. If you don’t have an account and you don’t want to create a one, you can opt for Wetranfer, you can access the service directly from their website, with no need to create an account, but please note that, with this free version, the files will stay available for download only for 1 week.

Rate & review

If you are wondering why you need to rate and review you photolover, in order to update the status of your booking to delivered – here is the answer.

Photolovers have the possibility to rate and review your service, so that the best performing phototakers can be rewarded (with major visibility on the platform). In fact, when a photolover is searching for a phototaker in a location, the order of appearance of the search results will be based on ranking.

So, in order to incentive photolovers, we appealed to their curiosity, setting a system which first asks the phototaker (you) to rate and review the photolover. Then the photolovers will be notified that he/she got a review, but he/she’ll be able to read it, only after he/she’s done the same.

Cancellation policy

INSTANT BOOKING

As phototaker, when you receive a request for instant booking, you have the option to confirm or decline. If you opt for “decline” the request will be canceled with no fee. On the contrary, if you decide to cancel at any time after you’ve confirmed, a $30 cancellation fee will apply.

 

 SCHEDULED PHOTO SHOOT 

When a photolover wants to schedule a photo shoot, he\she can only choose among the available slots you set on your calendar (and with a minimum of 48h of advance on the photo shoot time). Because of that, this type of bookings are automatically confirmed, so you won’t have the option to cancel for free. However you can send a request to your photolover to reschedule.

RESCHEDULE – in the scenario that you are no longer available for a photo shoot, you have one possibility to ask your photolover to reschedule. You can only submit 1 request to reschedule per booking, and at least 48h prior the photo shoot time. so, we warm recommences to double check your calendar to make sure that you are actually available on the slots you previously set, before submitting you request to reschedule.

If you still need to cancel your booking, please note that in this case the cancellation fee will be $100.

 

Why Pelooc has a strict cancellation policy?
We believe that to guarantee a great experience to our users, we must show commitment and be trustworthy. So, our cancellation policy aims to discourage bad behaviors and unreliable people to join our crew.

Delay & no-show policy

PHOTOLOVER DEALAY or NO-SHOW – If your photolover is late for a shoot you can find in your booking details his/her mobile number to get in touch and check on him/her. After 15 minutes by the supposed photo-shoot-starting-time, an option to “report a no-show” will appear in the booking. You can now report the no-show, the booking will be automatically closed and your service will be compensated with the 50% of the booking about.

We warmly recommend to make at least one attempt to reach out to your photolover before reporting a no-show.

 

PHOTOTAKER DEALAY or NO-SHOW – In case your delay exceeds 15 minutes, your photolover will have the same option to report you for no-show. If this happens, you’ll be charged for a $100 no-show fee.

To get paid for your service you must mark your order as delivered in the app.

Once you’ve done so, the platform will automatically credit your bank account for the amount of the order, net the app service fee.
